RunCam Phoenix 2 SP Starlight FPV Camera

The RunCam Phoenix 2 SP Starlight FPV Camera is a powerful analog FPV camera designed for pilots who want clear, detailed and responsive video during racing, freestyle and general FPV flying. It features a 1/2.8-inch Starlight CMOS sensor and delivers up to 1500TVL horizontal resolution for sharp analog FPV footage.

With Global WDR, switchable NTSC/PAL video systems and support for 4:3 and 16:9 formats, the camera offers flexible configuration for different FPV setups. Its compact 19 × 19 × 21mm design and 7.5g weight make it suitable for a wide range of FPV drone frames.

1500TVL Analog FPV Image Quality

The RunCam Phoenix 2 SP Starlight FPV Camera provides 1500TVL horizontal resolution, giving pilots detailed video during fast FPV flights. High-resolution analog video helps pilots identify obstacles, gates and terrain while maintaining the responsive characteristics expected from an analog FPV system.

The 1/2.8-inch Starlight CMOS sensor is designed to provide strong image performance in different lighting conditions. This makes the camera suitable for pilots who fly during both daylight and lower-light environments.

Starlight Low-Light Performance

The Starlight sensor is one of the main advantages of the Phoenix 2 SP. It is designed to capture usable images when available light is limited, making the camera suitable for evening flights, shaded environments and other challenging lighting conditions.

For freestyle pilots, improved low-light performance can provide a more consistent view when flying through areas with changing illumination. The camera's Global WDR also helps manage scenes containing both bright and dark areas.

Global WDR

The RunCam Phoenix 2 SP Starlight FPV Camera features Global WDR to improve image handling in high-contrast environments. This can be useful when flying outdoors where sunlight and shadows appear within the same scene.

WDR helps the camera retain useful image information across different exposure levels, giving pilots a more balanced view during challenging lighting conditions.

Wide Field of View

The Phoenix 2 SP is available with different FOV configurations. The official specifications list a 155° diagonal FOV option and a 138° diagonal FOV option, depending on the selected configuration.

A wide field of view can be useful for FPV freestyle and general flying because it gives the pilot greater awareness of the surrounding environment. It can also help when navigating tight spaces and performing dynamic manoeuvres.

NTSC and PAL Support

The camera supports both NTSC and PAL signal systems, allowing it to work with different analog FPV equipment. The screen format can also be switched between 4:3 and 16:9.

Before installation, make sure the camera's video standard and aspect ratio are compatible with your FPV goggles, monitor and video transmitter.

Wide 5–36V Power Input

The RunCam Phoenix 2 SP Starlight FPV Camera supports a DC input range of 5–36V, providing flexibility for different FPV power configurations. The camera draws approximately 120mA at 5V and 220mA at 12V according to RunCam's specifications.

Always verify the power connection and polarity before connecting the camera to your FPV electronics.

Compact and Lightweight Design

Measuring approximately 19mm × 19mm × 21mm and weighing only 7.5g, the Phoenix 2 SP is designed for compact FPV builds. Its small size allows it to fit into many standard FPV camera mounts without adding significant weight to the drone.

The lightweight construction is particularly useful for racing and freestyle drones where overall aircraft weight can affect flight characteristics.

Ideal for Racing and Freestyle FPV

The RunCam Phoenix 2 SP Starlight FPV Camera is suitable for racing, freestyle and general analog FPV applications. Its high resolution, Starlight sensor, WDR and flexible video formats provide a practical combination for pilots looking for a capable analog camera.

The camera can be used in new drone builds or as an upgrade for an existing FPV system, provided that the mounting, voltage and video connections are compatible.

Why Choose the RunCam Phoenix 2 SP?

The RunCam Phoenix 2 SP Starlight FPV Camera is a strong choice for pilots who want high-resolution analog FPV video in a compact package. Its 1500TVL resolution, Starlight sensor, Global WDR, wide voltage range and lightweight construction make it suitable for a variety of FPV drone builds.

Before installation, verify the camera's voltage, mounting dimensions, video standard and connector configuration with the rest of your FPV system.
